Donley Johnson - Chairperson
Donley and his wife Kathy have lived in Forest Lake since 1974. They have two children and five grandchildren who all reside here. Donley and Kathy were full time Forest Lake Area School District employees for 31 and 24 years respectively, both retiring in 2005. Donley held a variety of administrative positions in the School District including Assistant Principal and Director of Administration and Instruction, among others. He was a charter member of the Local Youth Service Bureau Board of Directors, serving on that Board for many years, a past board member and past president of LATV Channel 10 Local TV Access and is a board member and past president of the Forest Hills Golf Club Board of Directors. The Education Foundation of the Forest Lake Area (TEFFLA) provides everyone a wonderful opportunity to work toward providing additional educational opportunities in our community.
Jeff Joyer - Vice Chair
Jeff and Mary moved to Lino Lakes, Mary's hometown, in 1978. They have 6 children, all of whom have attended FL Schools. In addition to full time real estate sales since 1977, Jeff is an Anoka County Extension Committee member, FLHS Ag Advisory member, 4H leader, and FLHS wrestling team photographer for 9 years. Mary owns and operates Waldoch Farm Garden Center adjoining the family residence in Lino Lakes, MN.
Jane Bona - Secretary
Jane is currently the principal at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Columbia Heights. Previously, Jane had been a teacher in the Forest Lake Area Schools for 30 years, teaching Social Studies at Southwest Junior High and more recently serving as a Curriculum Coordinator. Jane has a strong commitment to enhancing the educational opportunities and providing assistance to our youth, teachers and programs in the Forest Lake Area Communities. She believes that the development of the TEFFLA endowment fund is an exciting initiative that will provide those educational opportunities and programs.
Sandy Chaussee - Treasurer
Sandy and her husband Mike have lived in Forest Lake for 26 years. They have two children who are both graduates of Forest Lake schools. Sandy was a leader in the formation of the FL Montessori Program, officer and active member of Wavemakers Booster Club, multi-year organizer for Senior All-Night Party and has volunteered for numerous district task forces. "I am very excited to see the initiation of an education foundation that has the potential to keep people connected to our schools, and give back to our communities for many years into the future."
Jeff Gauvin, Board Member:
Jeff is a Forest Lake graduate, and lived in the area until finishing graduate school. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Milwaukee, and left to join Wells Fargo, where he has worked for 25 years in various technology, finance, operations and sales roles. Jeff is currently the Community Development Officer for Wells Fargo in Arizona.
Jeff served on various boards while living in Milwaukee, and currently serves on the board of directors for Neighborhood Housing Services-Phoenix and Susan G Komen for the Cure-Phoenix. In addition, he is the chair of the Local Advisory Committee for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation-Phoenix, as well as, a member of the Arizona Community Reinvestment Collaborative, Phoenix Community Alliance, and the Arizona Advancement Committee for ACCION.
Jeff lives in greater Phoenix with his wife Judy.
Karen Morehead - Board Member
Karen and her husband Bob have lived in Forest Lake for 43 years. They have three sons and 11 grandchildren. All three sons are graduates of the Forest Lake School District. Karen and Bob have always been active in their community. Karen has been a member of the Forest Lake School Board for 11 years; a former board member of the Forest Lake Area Youth Service Board; a current member of the Forest Lake Park Board; a Forest Lake Rotarian for 6 years and a volunteer at the Lakes Life Care Center for over 20 years. "We love our schools and community and would like to support them in every way possible."
Dr. Linda Madsen - Ex-Officio Board Member
Linda has worked in the Forest Lake Area Schools for 31 years in various positions - junior high teacher, mentor coordinator, curriculum coordinator, director of teaching and learning and Superintendent. She also serves on the Youth Services Bureau Board, the Chain of Lakes YMCA Board and is a member of the Forest Lake Rotary. Linda lives in district with her husband, Tim, in Ham Lake.
Kathy Norquist, Board Member:
Kathy and Gene Norquist have made the Forest Lake and Wyoming communities their home for 43 years, and enjoyed 30 and 38 year careers as Forest Lake Area School teachers. Kathy worked primarily at Southwest Junior High School teaching Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). Gene taught at Central and Century Junior High. They both retired from the Forest Lake district. They raised two sons in the Forest Lake community who graduated from the Forest Lake Area Schools. Kathy and Gene are both active members of Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Lake. Kathy is also very active in the Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Laurel Walker - Executive Director
Laurel and her husband, Robb, have lived in Forest Lake since 1984, and they have two children, who are both FLHS graduates. Laurel has been involved with numerous community and school activities, including board memberships at St. Peter's Catholic School, Forest Lake Hockey Association, Blue Line Club and co-chaired the Senior All-Night Party for several years. "I am committed to continue giving back to our schools and community to make a positive impact".
